Addy's Room

Addy's room has been a work in process... We got her bed in right after Christmas.  Which if I do say so myself is the most awesome bed ever.  :)  This will be the first grandchild for my parents and they are SO excited.  They  were generous enough to get the bed as our Christmas present.  Here is a picture of mom, Scott, and Josh assembling her bed.  With Chaser's help of course.

After the bed was assembled and furniture arranged, not much was done until after tax season. Although, I did come home one Saturday after working and Josh had her room completely painted.  We couldn't agree on her bedding, so I kinda over ruled him on it and therefore let him choose the paint color.

Here is the final result of her room.  I love it!!! There are a few small things that need to be done.  Her curtains should be in this week and Kimberly is painting letters for me to go over her bed.  But if she were to come today we could handle it!!

Chaser seems to approve. :)

Notice the pink puppy.  That is what we call her Chaser puppy.  Josh picked that up right after we found out we were going to have a little girl!!

Friday October 1, 2010, A Day I will Never Forget

Just as soon as I opened the door to get back in my car to head to work (after finding out) I got a text message.  There were several odd things about this message.  The text was from my cousin Danielle and she NEVER text me... I know that sounds crazy but she would always bbm me.  And secondly she never forwarded texts and this was a forwarded one. Thirdly she never sends me a message in the morning, because I am so bad about responding then... ha ha ha.  The message was something to the effect of "God is with you today whatever your struggles are just give them to him."  That's not exact, but it's basically the meaning of the text.  All I could send back was you have NO idea. And I knew she would immediately call me... which she did.  She was so excited because she was also pregnant and we could go through this journey together!! And believe me without her to ask questions too I would be completely lost (even more so than I already am.) The next few people that found out were Kimberly and Vicki.  They were both super excited as well.  My next mission was to figure out how to tell Josh.

I knew I had to tell him in person, so it would have to wait till the end of the work day.  I struggled with it all day and my emotions were wild.  One minute I was crying the next I was so excited.  Keeping this secret all day was so incredibly hard!! But I decided to get pedifores and had Teresa's bakery add the plastic baby rings on top, so all I would have to do is hand them to him.  So I called Josh and asked him to meet me at the "new" house and I would be there just as soon as I went and got Chaser.  I knew we would need Chaser for support :).  I also told him I needed for him to meet me there ALONE and we needed at least 30 minutes or so by ourselves.  He argued with me and got pretty mad because he was suppose to meet his parents at our "old" house to start moving things that night.  I was in tears when he said no... And finally I just said, "meet me at the new house by yourself and tell no one to come until later... I have NEVER asked you to do anything like this before and please just do what I ask for once!!"  Finally he gave in.  On my way home I cried all the way and finally when I finished crying and was about to turn into our road Chris called... So the tears came again.  I tried really hard to quit before I got out of the car.  I pulled up and Josh was already home and of course I was still in tears.  All I could do was hand him the box of pedifores... He stood there for a minute and before he opened them said your pregnant aren't you... And again I burst into tears and all I could do was shake my head yes... He didn't say a whole lot and walked around the house for about 15 minutes with Chaser, silently.

He then accepted the idea and said well... I guess we are going to have a baby!! :)  And the rest of the night we moved furniture keeping it quiet until everyone had left, except Joe and Jess.  (Jess found out earlier because she walked in and tried to hand me a glass of wine and I wouldn't take it ha ha.)  But of course he had to tell Joseph...

These are the pedifores I gave to Josh

These are just a few more pictures from Boston!

The beginning Cont....

Let me explain Josh's melt downs from my prior post.  Our first house was suppose to close the same day and did not.  So we had it rented for a few months before it sold. So he was a little nervous about having two house notes for a few months.

And here is the the story from the rest of the night.... One of my best friends had just told me that week that she was expecting and I was beyond thrilled for her!!! That night I got to thinking I was a few days late (which wasn't completely unusual for me so I didn't think a lot about it.)  But I did have one test at home so at about 10:00 that night I took it.  The first line immediately came up so I set it to the side and didn't think much about it.  Just a few minutes later I picked it back up for some odd reason and there happen to be a second line!!!! It was my turn to start flipping out!! So there is the story to how I found out.  But I could never tell Josh the same day.  He was already flipped out due to the circumstances above.  And before I told him I needed to MAKE SURE!

So the next morning I called into work and said I would be a few minutes late and ran by the Women's Pavilion in Ellisville to have my blood drawn.  This was on a Friday morning and the lady that drew my blood said we will give you a call Monday and let you know the results.  A look of dread came over my face and she said "you need to know now don't you?"  I asked her if there was anyway possible?  And she asked if I could wait 5 minutes.  Of course I could!  So 5 minutes later she brought me back and said there is no question!  You are definitely pregnant!!!  Wow was about all I could say.

This is random... But Josh and I went to Boston for a Red Sox game at the beginning of September and here are a few shots from that.... It was awesome by the way!!

In the next post I will tell how the rest of Friday went!!

In the beginning.....

Just a brief summary.  Josh and I married on June 4, 2005.  I was still in undergrad and he worked at Chris Posey in Laurel.  I graduated from USM in May of 2006 with my undergrad in Accounting and started in the MBA program in Aug. 2006.  In June 2006 we expanded our family to include Chaser, which is our awesome Maltese

Also in Aug. 2006 we bought our first home.

2007 and 2008 we pretty normal and I graduated with my MBA in May 2008, and sometime during these years Josh had started back to Jones at night for an Engineering degree.  I immediately began taking my CPA tests and finally in May of 2010 I got notification that I had passed the final one!!!! (Best day ever)

And the rest of the adventure begins here... :) Hope you enjoy!!!

It all started on September 30, 2010.  Josh and I had bought our second home that day at around 9 that morning.

The rest of the day went fairly smooth (other than the occasional break down from Josh) and we came home that night after work to finish packing.  It was late and we were both exhausted.  I think he was on the couch watching TV and I went to the bedroom to get ready for bed.  And Addy's adventure started here...
